Men Beat Murder Charges in Two Separate Camden Cases
Laquan Shaw had his murder indictment dismissed when, after a hung jury earlier this year, he struck a plea bargain with the prosecutor to plead guilty to a drug offense.
In an unrelated case, on April 18, 2018, Bronk Miller was found Not Guilty of Murder by a jury in April, and was sentenced on June 11, 2018 to 10 years in prison for Reckless Manslaughter in the shooting death of Andre Matthew of Camden.
Both defendants were represented by Cherry Hill attorney Richard Sparaco.

New Jersey Supreme Court agrees with Defense Counsel Richard Sparaco, Esq.
On May 26, 2016, the New Jersey Supreme Court agreed with defense counsel Richard Sparaco, Esq. when he appealed from a trial judge's decision. The decision by a Superior Court Judge of Gloucester County was to allow the jury to hear that his client, J.M., Jr., who is charged with aggravated sexual assault, had previously been charged with aggravated sexual assault in Florida, even though he had been acquitted by a Florida jury. When Mr. Sparaco took an appeal to the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of the Jersey, that court agreed with Mr. Sparaco and reversed the trial judge's ruling. The State of New Jersey (plaintiff) then took the case up to the New Jersey Supreme Court. After oral argument this past January, the New Jersey Supreme Court agreed with Mr. Sparaco on May 26, 2016 that the evidence cannot be used at J.M., Jr.'s trial, affirming the Appellate Division's decision.

The jury also acquitted Williams of Aggravated Manslaughter, but convicted him of Manslaughter. That Manslaughter conviction was overturned on appeal.
